the dancer becomes part of an installation. the installation becomes part of a dance. the installation is a composition of elements suspended in space. the task of the dancers is to introduce the dimension of time into the composition. the performer and the installation find together as partners and the installation adds another dimension to the work of the performer. the installation gives an impulse to the dancer to move and provides a landscape for the journey of dance, a picture frame, a three-dimensional wallpaper. these dancers have a strong interest in improvisation, that is finding out what they are doing in the moment theyre doing it. they have met on different dancefloors before, in different places, different constellations, under different circumstances and they already share different experiences together. following their own individual vocabluary and skills, their curiosities and desires, their inventiveness and imagination, they are trying to find themselves and each other through movement in space and in relation with each other. but space is not empty. there is a structure in space, forming a strange geometry, composed of distorted elements apparently found accidentially in the streets and the backyards, yet perfectly apt to express an intention, a direction in space. the dancers work in conjunction with this geometry. the elements consist of more or less flexible, bendable and elastic materials, suspended between ceiling and floor. the elements are interconnected with strings, so that in the event of touch an impulse can travel from one end to the other end through material and space, making the installation alive. perhaps there is an impression of reduced gravity, ironic ambiguity and disorientation in space. the electric violine of ari poutiainen introduces an accoustic dimension, that is an element independent from space. the performence is planned to have two stages. The first stage follows a time structure. The second stage is free...
